I have miniature dachshund (also known as a wiener dog) and her name is Copper. Dachshunds are short- legged, long bodied dogs. They are made to flush out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals. The word "dachshund" is German and literally means "badger hound".
My dog Copper loves to play around all day long. She also chews off all of her collars. Copper loves to go in rabbit holes, too. My grandparents have a lot of rabbits and they sometimes keep them in her chicken coop, but the bunnies dug holes in the dirt floor. Copper went in the holes and tried to get the bunnies, but she never got one, and I'm glad she didn't. It took for ever to get Copper out of the bunny holes, and she was doing what she was made to do.
Here is a picture of Copper.

Copper looks so cute!

ReplyDeleteGreat story, Adele!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog about Copper. That was a funny day when Copper kept going down in the bunny holes. New baby bunnies will be arriving at Camp Key in about a week, but let's don't tell Copper!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the next story.
